Parallel Realities – Embracing the Duality of Paradox

Hey there, hello friend!

I'm thrilled to finally share the journey behind Parallel Realities, my upcoming solo exhibition. This collection is a deeply personal exploration inspired by my father's recent passing and delves into the paradox of vulnerability and strength. The exhibition will be held on November 16th, 2024, at 6pm at ShockBoxx Gallery in Hermosa Beach, CA.

In Parallel Realities solo show, I dive headfirst into duality—grappling with chaos and control, light and dark. Each painting captures the intense clash of hues that represents the uncontrollable nature of grief. Yet within this chaos, you'll also find a portal of hope, a path toward acceptance and clarity.

But I want you to know that this exhibition will reveal a side of me that you've never seen before. It's not familiar in Parallel Realities solo show. This time, I'm excited to challenge the limits of my creativity in an exhilarating and intimidating way. I'm inviting you to step into this new realm with me, to embrace surprises, and to experience the unexpected.

As always, immersive art installations will blur the lines between light and dark, offering you the chance to explore how our perceptions shape the world we experience. One of the primary techniques I'm using is layered paint, which represents the dual forces within each of us. It's an invitation to reflect on the magic of discovering harmony within darkness and to embrace the beauty in contrast.

Ultimately, Parallel Realities is about stepping beyond polarity, where all experiences—no matter how contrasting—are equally valid. I hope these pieces resonate with you, inspiring you to find beauty in life's contrasts, just as they've helped me.

Thank you for your unwavering support and for joining me on this deeply personal journey. Your anticipation for the exhibition means the world to me. I can't wait to share Parallel Realities with you and hear how it speaks to your own story.

More to come!

Color Your Life,

Drica
