I didn't realize how much I needed this trip to Puglia, in the south of Italy, until I was here, surrounded by the places and people my father cherished. This journey has been a blend of bittersweet memories and a deep connection to my roots, an experience that has inspired me in ways I never anticipated. Puglia has always been one of my favorite places, and this visit has only deepened my love for it.

A Journey from France to Italy

After completing my art residency in France at the beautiful Chateau Orquevaux, my original plan was to meet my father in Polignano a Mare, where he is from. We were supposed to enjoy the picturesque views and indulge in the rich culture and cuisine of this enchanting town. Unfortunately, life had other plans, and my father passed away before our reunion.

Despite the sorrow, I decided to continue with my journey. I came to Polignano a Mare, not just to see the places he loved but to reconnect with my Italian soul and find solace in the beauty that he cherished so much.

Polignano a Mare, with its dramatic cliffs and turquoise waters, is a place that feels like it's straight out of a dream. Walking through the narrow streets, I could feel my father's presence in every corner, from the little cafés he used to frequent to the stunning viewpoints he adored. This town, with its vibrant energy and breathtaking scenery, offered me a sense of peace and closeness to him.

My family here has been incredibly supportive, taking me to all of his favorite spots and sharing stories that brought his memory to life. We've explored the charming villages, tasted the delicious local cuisine, and immersed ourselves in the warm hospitality that is so characteristic of Puglia.
